Dr. James Hassell
Dr. James Hassell is a mission-minded pastor with 15 years of pastoral experience. A Texas native, Dr. Hassell is an alumni of Hardin-Simmons University and Truett Seminary at Baylor University. He has pastored in multiple churches across the state and even nationwide. He is the author of two books, Seeing New Light and Walk as Jesus Walked.
He is a pastor who cares deeply about the congregation, preaches from the Bible, walks upon a strong foundation of prayer and Bible study, and centers congregational life on Jesus Christ.
Dr. Hassell's wife, Shannon, loves being in ministry and serving the Lord through the local church.
James and Shannon are college sweethearts and have been married for eighteen years. They have two children.
Minister of Worship
Jon Ratzlaff is an Austin native having graduated from McNeil HS before getting degrees from both Mary Hardin-Baylor (Church Music) and Baylor's Truett Seminary (MDiv). He met his wife Dawn while they were both in college at UMHB. She is also an Austinite and a trained musician with a degree in Music Education and will also soon have a degree in Music Therapy. They have three boys, Enoch, Malachi, and Titus, a dog named Lady and three chickens. Jon has served over 15 years in worship ministry throughout the state of Texas and also spent several of those years teaching choir in the public school system. Jon's passion in ministry is helping people activate their God-given gifts for His glory and leading the body of Christ in the worship of the one true God. Jon also loves the outward arm of the church deeply and desires to help Christians live their lives on mission for God.
